শহীদ মোঃ শিফাত হোসেন একজন মাদ্রাসা ছাত্র হিসেবে তিনি শুরু থেকেই ফ্যাসিবাদবিরোধী আন্দোলনে সক্রিয়ভাবে অংশগ্রহণ করতেন। ৫ই আগস্ট আন্দোলনের সময় তিনি গুলিবিদ্ধ হয়ে শহীদ হন। ওই দিন তাঁর মরদেহ খুঁজে পাওয়া যায়নি। পরদিন, ৬ই আগস্ট, মিডফোর্ট হাসপাতালের মর্গে তাঁর লাশ শনাক্ত করা হয়। হাসপাতাল সূত্রে জানা যায়, তাঁর মৃত্যু হয়েছে মাথায় গুলির আঘাতে। শহীদ শিফাতের এই আত্মত্যাগ আমাদের আন্দোলনের ইতিহাসে আরেকটি অমলিন সাহসিকতার দৃষ্টান্ত হয়ে থাকবে। তাঁর স্মৃতির প্রতি রইল গভীর শ্রদ্ধা।
