His father, a teacher, continued his education by cultivating their land. Soikat was a dreamer, and his wish was for his son to become a cricketer and his daughter a doctor. However, before his dreams could be realized, he was martyred in the quota movement. শহীদ সাফওয়ান – এক অসমাপ্ত স্বপ্ন সাফওয়ান, পিতা আখতারুজ্জামান, ছিলেন সাভার ক্যান্টনমেন্ট পাবলিক স্কুল অ্যান্ড কলেজের দশম শ্রেণির মেধাবী শিক্ষার্থী। খেলাধুলা, গান, ছবি আঁকা এবং নামাজে ছিলেন অত্যন্ত দক্ষ। তার বাবা একজন ভেটেরিনারিয়ান এবং বাংলাদেশ কৃষি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে পিএইচডি করছেন। সম্ভাবনাময় ভবিষ্যৎ নিয়ে এগিয়ে চলা সাফওয়ান ৫ আগস্ট আনন্দ মিছিলে পুলিশের গুলিতে শহীদ হন। তার স্বপ্ন, তার প্রতিভা, তার সম্ভাবনা—সব থেমে গেল এক নিষ্ঠুর গুলিতে। কিন্তু তার আত্মত্যাগ আমাদের প্রেরণা হয়ে থাকবে, আমাদের ন্যায়ের সংগ্রামকে এগিয়ে নিয়ে যাবে।

Shaheed Safwan – An Unfinished Dream Safwan, son of Akhtaruzzaman, was a brilliant tenth-grade student at Savar Cantonment Public School and College. He excelled in sports, music, painting, and prayer. His father is a veterinarian pursuing a Ph.D. at Bangladesh Agricultural University. With a promising future ahead, Safwan was martyred on August 5 when police opened fire on a joyful procession. His dreams, his talent, his potential—all came to an abrupt halt with a cruel bullet. But his sacrifice will remain an inspiration, driving our struggle for justice forward.

শফিকুল ছিলেন একজন দিনমজুর, পরিবারের একমাত্র উপার্জনকারী। কঠিন পরিশ্রম করে পরিবারের মুখে আহার তুলে দিতেন। ৫ আগস্ট সাভারের মুক্তির মোড়ে গুলিবিদ্ধ হয়ে শহীদ হন। তার আত্মত্যাগ শুধু একটি জীবনের ক্ষয় নয়, এটি আমাদের সংগ্রামের এক অবিচ্ছেদ্য অংশ। তিনি বেঁচে থাকবেন প্রতিটি শোষিত মানুষের অধিকার আদায়ের লড়াইয়ে, প্রজন্মের পর প্রজন্ম।

Shafiqul was a day laborer and the sole breadwinner of his family. Through relentless hard work, he provided for his loved ones. On August 5, he was shot and martyred at Mukti Mor in Savar. His sacrifice is not just the loss of a life but an inseparable part of our struggle. He will live on in the fight for the rights of the oppressed, generation after generation.

শহীদ শফিক উদ্দিন আহমেদ আহনাফ, বি.এফ. শাহীন কলেজের একাদশ শ্রেণীর ছাত্র, ছিলেন আন্দোলনের একজন সক্রিয় অংশগ্রহণকারী। ১৮ জুলাই তিনি রাবার বুলেটের আঘাত পান, তবে পরিবারের কাউকে জানাননি। ১৯ জুলাই মিরপুর ১০-এ আন্দোলনের সময় আহত হয়ে বাসায় ফিরে আসেন। তার মা তাকে আন্দোলনে যেতে নিষেধ করলে, তিনি বলেন, “অনেক ছেলে তাদের মায়েদের জন্য যেতে পারছে না, আমি তো যেতে পারছি!” ৩ আগস্ট আবার আন্দোলনে যোগ দেন, এবার তার মা-ও সঙ্গে ছিলেন। ৪ আগস্ট দুপুরে খাবার শেষে বাসা থেকে বেরিয়ে যান। পরিবারের সঙ্গে শেষ কথোপকথনের পর আর ফোন ধরেননি। পরে তার বন্ধুদের মাধ্যমে ইসলামিয়াহ ব্যাংক হাসপাতালে খোঁজ নিয়ে জানা যায়, তিনি সোহরাওয়ার্দী হাসপাতালের মর্গে পাওয়া গেছেন। আহনাফের আত্মত্যাগ আমাদের জন্য এক অনন্ত প্রেরণা হয়ে থাকবে।

On July 18, he was hit by a rubber bullet but did not inform his family. On July 19, he was injured again during the protests at Mirpur 10 and returned home. When his mother asked him not to join the movement, he responded, “Many boys cannot go because of their mothers, but I can!” On August 3, he joined the movement again, this time with his mother. On August 4, after having lunch, he left home. After his last conversation with his family, he did not answer his phone. Later, through his friends, it was discovered at Islami Bank Hospital that he was found in the morgue of Shaheed Suhrawardy Hospital. Ahnaf’s sacrifice will remain an eternal inspiration for us.

On February 16, he visited the July Shaheed Smrity Foundation, where he observed its overall activities and learned about various initiatives taken for the families of martyrs and the injured. He expressed his satisfaction and gratitude for the foundation’s humanitarian efforts and wished for its success. স্বৈরশাসনের বিরুদ্ধে প্রতিবাদে তিনি নেমেছিলেন রাস্তায়, গণআন্দোলনের কণ্ঠে যুক্ত করেছিলেন নিজের কণ্ঠ। ৫ই আগস্ট গাজীপুরে ফ্যাসিবাদবিরোধী আন্দোলনে পুলিশের গুলিতে তিনি শহীদ হন।

তাঁর আত্মত্যাগ আমাদের প্রেরণা দেয়, অন্যায়ের বিরুদ্ধে মাথা উঁচু করে দাঁড়ানোর সাহস জোগায়। শহীদ মাজহারুল ইসলামের ত্যাগ চিরস্মরণীয় হয়ে থাকবে।

তাঁর আত্মত্যাগ অমর হয়ে থাকবে আমাদের হৃদয়ে, আমাদের লড়াইয়ে।

From the very beginning of the July-August anti-fascist movement, he was actively involved. He took to the streets to fight against oppression and tyranny.

Finally, standing against the dictatorship of ‘24, Kazi Ashraf was martyred by police gunfire. But the history written in his blood has only strengthened our struggle for freedom.
